Review details

Purpose: determine whether First Faces practices are becoming consistent campus routines. This reviews the SYSTEM, not individual employee performance. Use evidence from walkthroughs, staff reflection, student/family voice, referrals, and attendance patterns.

Implementation look-fors — WELCOME

Adults are visible and students receive a positive first interaction at arrival / re-entry.
Late and returning students are welcomed without public embarrassment or shame.

Implementation look-fors — CONNECT

Returning students are noticed and intentionally reconnected to learning.
Students can identify adults they can approach when attendance becomes difficult.

Implementation look-fors — DISCOVER

Staff use curiosity-based language and seek barriers rather than making assumptions.
Student/family voice is being gathered and used to understand the attendance experience.

Implementation look-fors — RESPOND

Staff know the site's referral/connection pathway and where to send concerns.
Disclosed barriers result in a specific connection, support, or next step.

Implementation look-fors — FOLLOW-UP

A receiving adult/team owns the next step and closes the loop with the student/family.
The team checks whether support was accessed and whether attendance improved.

Implementation look-fors — SYSTEM

Persistent patterns move appropriately into Fresh Start or Success/SART rather than remaining informal.
Leadership uses walkthrough/pulse/reflection evidence to adjust First Faces implementation.
